[00:01:14] I just did a, I just finished up at The Tonight Show where I was a writer and then a showrunner I was there for exactly one decade Wow, ten full years Exactly, to the day, but yeah, so now I'm just, like I said, I'm taking a little time off I'm taking piano lessons, I'm watching The View, life is good Now Mike, Mike was like, you know what, I gotta call this Fallon thing quits, because I gotta do Deck The Hallmark

[00:01:43] That's right This is what I've been waiting for my whole career We're direct competition to Fallon, so this is good Thanks Mike for joining Team Deck The Hallmark Oh, thanks for having me And Mike, tell everybody about your, your history You said you love these movies, they make you feel like you're in some sort of Christmas cocoon So tell everybody about your history with them I mean, I feel like the one that really just got me is Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus Right

[00:02:12] Starring Steve Guttenberg and Crystal Bernard The Goot It is just a phenomenal movie Every choice made in the movie is interesting As they are I would say I kind of liken it to, like, the room of Christmas movies Now I have to watch it We were doing a thing at Fallon where we would, every year Because Jimmy also independently saw the movie

[00:02:40] As did my buddy John Haskell And we all were talking about it And then we have had yearly annual screenings of the movie for the entire staff And it's very fun It's kind of like Rocky Horror Picture Show The Room So if you ever do a classic version of Deck the Hallmark Where you go back in time and check out old ones Mark me down for Single Santa Single Santa Seeks Mrs. Claus I'm so in for that Sign me up It's happening I love it

[00:07:04] Mike we'll be back Bernard the Elf Bernard the Elf He's a gem He is He comes back for Santa Claus 2 But he has a limp Because he was filming Another TV show And he hurt himself Right before taping it And so if you watch him He has a limp for part Been hit with a few shells Homegrown Christmas Homegrown Christmas Originally here December 8th 2018 And it went a little Something like this The movie kicks off With Maddie Selling her shoe company And not really knowing What to do Now that she's not a CEO

[00:07:34] So she decides That she's going to go Home for Christmas And actually spend time With her family Rather than just going in And going right back out Carter Her high school sweetheart Is nervous About her coming home Because he helps run The family business So he's going to be there For a good part of the trip So when she arrives At her parents' house She spots Carter Through the window And so she hides Behind a tree But he totally spots her While he walks out And they talk about How awkward it's going to be But they're both adults And so they're just Going to have to deal with it It becomes pretty clear That Maddie has been

[00:08:03] Too busy for her family For quite some time Especially her little sister And it comes out That Carter is helping Get the barn ready The family barn For the winter formal And since Maddie Isn't really doing anything With her life right now The family asks her to help And so she says Okay I am going to help So Maddie decides That one evening To go by Carter's house To hash out Everything that happened In the past But when she gets there She sees this blonde girl

[00:08:33] Walking out And she's like Oh no So she drives off But they end up Talking the next morning And he's like I don't want to Stand in your way You've got all these Desires and stuff And she's like You didn't even ask If I wanted you To stand in the way So you know And we also find out That the girl That Maddie saw Is just Carter's cousin So no problem there That conflict Was resolved way earlier Than I expected it to be Now they've Cleaved that up And we finally get Our cooking making scene

[00:09:02] That happens In these Hallmark movies And it includes that That's not sugar That's salt It's a classic So after making cookies They talk about The community Of the city And past relationships Including her being In a relationship For four years And him almost being Married to somebody else But they just Weren't the ones Maybe they're Each other's the ones Can you believe it? So she then gets a call And it turns out that I believe it's The Wendy Williams

[00:09:31] The Wendy Williams Okay Cameos in this film Because they didn't really Like they said it once And that was it The Wendy Williams Might want Maddie To help design the shoes For her new clothing line We then find out That Carter is really Passionate about making Tiny wooden villages But he doesn't think That those tiny wooden Villages would be He'd be able to make A living doing it And so Maddie is like Listen I'm going to Put pictures of your Tiny villages on the Family company website And send out an Email blast

[00:10:01] And then once Carter Sees all the positive Response He will definitely decide That this dream Is worth going for So Maddie and Carter Go to the high school Dance together And they dance together At the high school dance And they almost kiss At the high school dance But she pulls back Because it's a high school dance And she's like Listen If I You know I still live in New York You live here It's not going to work And so she Runs away And it's at that point That we find out About the He finds out about The email blast Maddie's mom

[00:10:30] Talks to her About how true love Can really fill you up For a lifetime And Maddie's like You know what You're right So I'm going to go Find Carter But Carter's really mad About that email blast And so So her mom Talks to Carter And is like Listen She doesn't want The life that she had You can't hold her back She wants a life with you And so Maddie decides That she wants to stay home And help run the family business And Carter comes over And tells her That she should stay And she's like I already am And so let's do this And so they kiss

[00:10:59] And the Christmas snow falls And that my friend Was Home room Christmas We did it Well done What a fun one Thank you No one ever says that Mike No one ever says that It's a hard job It's a hard job It's a thankless job It is a thankless job I write these for hours Overnight

[00:11:18] We always start with The hot take And I always start with My good friend Panda Panda What did you think Of this movie I thought that there were Some legitimately good scenes In this film The cookie swap scene Where the mom goes off On the other woman Like I This is the Like I think the first time In a Hallmark film

[00:11:47] I actually like Legitimately laughed out loud At something Because that relates Like that sounds like Something we do Like making comments As people are fighting At a Christmas party That sounds like Something we do And I thought it was funny Overall though Here's the thing about this movie I thought it was kind of boring I was not thrilled With this movie I spaced out a few times It's just one of those movies Where There wasn't anything Really remarkable That's not Lori Loughlin's problem But it's the film as a whole Just kind of a dull Plot line for me

[00:12:17] There wasn't anything That really stood out here So it's only okay for me Sure Mike what did you think? You know I thought it was I thought it was great I thought it was fun to watch And I thought Lori Really elevated it To a different level That it wouldn't have been That's right I definitely Think it's a testament To her That she can Kind of believably Play the daughter Of an actress Who's Like six years older Than her Yep Same age

[00:12:46] But she pulled it off And she Her wardrobe Was pretty great as well I have to Shout that out I think she was wearing Like a cape at one point Yeah It worked The old Christmas cape The lock Can pull it off I also noted down That the The sort of fake Play by play Commentary At the cookie swap scene It very Gave me some very Like Lorelei Luke From the Gilmore Girls Okay Yep Which I think The whole thing Kind of had Which is maybe Also why I enjoyed The movie

[00:13:16] Because I'm a huge Gilmore Girls fan But definitely An independent woman And a sort of Curmudgeonly handyman Finding love I liked it I love it And then The last thing I'll say Is I never thought I'd hear the phrase Email blast So many times In the Hallmark movie Yeah Cutting edge I'm here for it I thought it was pretty good Listen That is surprisingly Like high technology Oh yeah Like They nailed it In this movie You know Real quick Talking about Gilmore Girls I was on the vacation

[00:13:45] And I turned the TV And Gilmore Girls Was on And then I ended up Watching I think Six episodes Yeah It gets me Every time It's the vortex Mid season It was like Mid season three And I'm like This is good stuff Never watched one Never watched one You're the devil Never watched The Gilmore Girls Sorry Nobody's shocked by that Ooh we should Nevermind No No I know where you're going With it And I don't like it Nobody's listening Nobody's watching Nobody's recording No Just email us No No Real quick

[00:14:15] My hot take Is I enjoyed it I thought it was fun Love her I do agree with Panda I was a little bit Bored at times It just felt like There wasn't enough To keep it going Get out of here I didn't love the guy Can I say that The leading guy He grew on me But at first I did not like him either I don't know It didn't seem like He was really all that Honored to be Like the leading man To Aunt Becky And so And he should And he should be Yeah And you should Like you're taking

[00:14:44] John Stamos' spot Come on They should have got Stamos to do it I can't Now it would have been Gold Even I would have Had to say I like that movie Come on Listen John If you're listening I know you are John Just do the movie Next year Just do the Ripper's reunion We're not asking for a lot Like pretty much All of Full House Is doing these movies now That's right So if we could just Get you on there That'd be really great But yeah I was a little bit bored Didn't like the leading guy But overall I had fun with it

[00:15:13] I enjoyed it This movie should be called Homegrown Christmas I don't want to be successful Because pretty much Everyone in the movie Is like What would What would do the thing That would like Accent my talents Yeah I don't want to do that I could do a shoe deal With Wendy Williams And make millions of dollars Nope Don't want to do that I could make these Wooden towns And people want to see them Nope I don't want to do that I could go to a fashion school Which only 40 people In the world get in No No no no Not for me

[00:15:43] Like it is a continual Just roster Of decisions That make no sense Whatsoever And there are lines To match those decisions For instance Early on She's on the phone With her mom And her mom goes No I'm going to be blunt Do you want to come home For Christmas Is that being blunt That's just a normal question That you ask in December You never have to preface You want to come home For Christmas with I'm going to be blunt I'm going to shoot Straight to the point You want some pizza That's a raw question

[00:16:13] Like you know I don't want to catch you Off guard here That came out of left field The week before Christmas That's right They also say The funny thing about dreams Ava Is that if you believe in them They come true No No No No No No No No That is not true at all If you believe you can fly You cannot fly That is terrible Don't tell MJ that I believe I can fly I believe I can touch the sky Now And there also is a line That I just I have no place to put this So it's in the hot take

[00:16:42] Which is this This joker says I could fabricate An exterior outside the barn Like They're like What do we do To make sure people Understand he makes things We could have him say He fabricates an exterior That'll get him Between that and the email blast Everybody will know we're legit Yeah This movie was terrible It's one of It's one of my least favorites And I loved Like Growing up Aunt Becky Big fan She's not bad in this movie She's endearing in this movie The movie's terrible It's really really bad

[00:17:13] I usually Her movies are usually One of my favorites Of the season And this one was not Disappointing Still the best Of the full house movies So far Spoiler I don't know Switch for Christmas does it Not Switch for Christmas Shoe Addicts Is the best Is better than this And better than Entertaining Christmas You know what We don't need to get into this Yeah yeah We'll do that in our End of the year wrap up episode For sure It's time for all the feels The part of the show We talk about what gave us Those Christmas feels I'll kick us off

[00:17:41] There were the cupboards And the house Had bows on them And I really liked it Wow Yeah I noticed them About halfway through the movie Reach Yeah I didn't have anything I noticed about Halfway through the movie I was like Those bows Like I've never thought About putting bows On my cupboard They're not on Right now But I think I'm gonna Do it tomorrow Or something Just put some bows On my cupboard What color do you think Would look good with that That's a darker brown Than in the movie A green No no Like a little bit brighter Poinsettia color Okay Mike What do you think

[00:18:12] About the feels Or about the colors We'll go with the feels I don't know that there was Any particular Christmas feels But I got some good feels About I thought the best Kind of relationship In the movie Was actually The sisters Yeah yeah yeah I thought the part Where they kind of Sort of melt the ice Finally and kind of Like Maddie opens up About you know Not really having A significant other And Hallie kind of

[00:18:42] Like eases up A little bit And I thought That was a sweet scene Yeah And I liked I also liked Maddie kind of Her relationship With Ava About the The The The Yeah Yeah Because I You know I just I like when people Are told that They're good at Some Well you're Good at all The feels Mike Yeah I will say though They don't usually Do art very well In Hallmark Movies But I actually Thought the

[00:19:11] The dress designs Were cool I thought the Dress designs Were cool But the first Time I met her And I have No business Like I'm literally In a Yankees T-shirt Every day And orange shorts And I look No every day I wear something New York Yankees And I legitimately the first time they met her, I'm like, she's big into fashion. Really? Oh, come on. Come on, Dan. And then I realized, who am I to say anything? Yeah, that's right. And there's enough problems with this movie. This doesn't need to be one of them. Panda? I think the one scene, well, there were two scenes that gave me all

[00:19:41] the feels. The first one I already kind of mentioned was when they're making comments on the cookie swap. Thought that was a funny scene. But the other one is also going to be one of my what the Hallmark things. Or actually, I'm sorry, the Wait What. Wait What and What the Hallmark. I'm just trying to help you. No, you help me help you. Help me help you. Show me the money. So here's what I would say is the scene where Lachlan is kind of cuddling with Gage on the couch and they're looking at the Christmas tree and the lights and everything and the

[00:20:11] patterns and stuff like that. That's a fun scene. I didn't understand. Okay. We'll get to that. Trust me. Don't you wait for it. I want that scene. Red. Blue. Darn it. Yeah. Wait, don't you? No. No. Don't steal my thunder. Dan? No. No. It's a no for me. Nothing here. I do my best. I'm nothing if not honest. I do have all the feels in some of these movies. Just not this one. It's a no for me, dog. Sorry.

[00:20:46] It's time for the Wait What, the part of the show where we talk about what in this movie made us go, Wait What? And I'm just talking about my good friend Panda. Next year, when we release the bingo cards again, I'm going to have to put one of the squares on water damage. Good gosh. The amount of water damage that ruins all the Christmas ornaments. It's all the time. Every gym in America has a leak, apparently, that ruins everything. A theater or something that ruins the whole production. Yeah. Is there any insurance companies that

[00:21:17] advertise on Hallmark? I don't watch the commercials. I don't either. I will say my favorite water break of the season was the one in Pemberley Manor when the entire city is just destroyed. The gazebo is now in hell. Sinkhole. Christmas Wonderland when they're in the gym and it's, did you see that one drop? No. And there's like glops of water kind of like somebody's got a dropper up there. I kind of like the one in the majestic Christmas that was ruined. And then they go back and it's fine.

[00:21:47] Yeah. It's totally good. That water is a tricky, tricky mistress. You got to be careful with that. Well, because it can be, it can be fog. No. It can be ice. What are the elements? What are the elements? Solid liquid gas. Solid liquid gas. That's what I'm trying to say. Fog. Fog is what you went with. Life's a vapor, guys. Life's a vapor. Life is a vapor. My second wait, what has got to be the scene that I also gave me some feels, but immediately caused me to go, wait, what? They're looking at the patterns of the

[00:22:17] lights and he guesses the wrong color. And she goes, it's harder to guess the patterns of the lights when they're blinking than you think. It looks harder than you think. Guys, I got to be honest with you. It's not. It isn't. It isn't. Either they go in order and that means you can get it right every time. Yep. Or there are four colors because I counted the number of colors. Yes. And you have a 25% chance. Yeah. It is not hard. I've also never seen lights like that. There's like four blue in a row and then green. And they blink. Yeah. That means that at any given time,

[00:22:46] there's only a quarter of the tree that's lit up. Yeah. No, it was weird. It's a little distressing. But I can tell you right now, anybody that's playing that game is a doofus. Like, is a doofus. You should play that game no more than one time. You're like, oh, I know the odds here. Moving on. Right? It's like bop it. It's like, that was fun once, but I'm kind of open. Full disclosure, there was this great nightlight that used to change colors. It was a color change nightlight. And that thing got me multiple times. They had probably like 15 different

[00:23:16] colors. And it was going random. Okay. Well, it wasn't random. There was a pattern. Okay. But it did get me. Well, I mean, this is like the guy that just spends all his money at the casino playing roulette. And it's just like, I bet red every time. Yeah. Like, that's what it is. He just spends hours and hours betting red. It's what happens. You know, I just don't understand it. You can't be wrong. Did he have any more? No, that was it. Wonderful. Mike, do you have any? Yeah, I've got a couple of wait what's. Um, the first one, apparently Wendy Williams's phone number is four digits long.

[00:23:46] Yeah. They put a lot of time and effort into the Wendy Williams appearance. You can tell. It was almost as if they thought that maybe she was going to show up on set one day, but they didn't want to commit fully just in case it fell through and it did. I just love that. She, yeah, she tells her assistant, text me her number and she puts it. Takes her phone and does four distinct clicks and says done. Yeah. Wendy Williams. If anybody was going to have a four digit phone number, that would be Wendy.

[00:24:15] And I've been saying this for years. Wendy Williams is old. She's like 158. Like she has one of those four digit phone numbers. Three of them are the area code. She's one of the 10 oldest people since Graham Bell. Alexander Graham Bell. Wendy Williams. Right there. She's two. She's two. It's whatever the area code is for New York and two. That's what it is. Yeah. Also throughout the, you mentioned it, Bran, you touched on it in your, your recap, but the, the cousin thing.

[00:24:45] Yeah. Kind of. That definitely was like a, what? Like it's setting up like that. Here he has like this, uh, other girl that he's dating, this younger blonde woman that he's seen leaving stores with leaving his, uh, front door of his house with walking her out to her car, hugging her. And then it's so casually tossed off like, Oh, that's my cousin. But like who hangs out with their cousin that much? What are they, what are they doing?

[00:25:13] I don't think I've ever hung out with a cousin in a one-on-one situation in my entire life. And this guy's constantly with his cousin and it's never explained. I've met my cousins maybe once. No, no. I have a couple of cousins that listen to the show. Uh, and I don't, but I still have not. We don't know their names though. We do a shout out. Nope. Katie, Susie, Emily. They're all sisters. Those are the most made up names ever. No, they're real. You literally just came up with that. I did not. I promise I didn't. Yeah. But I see them maybe five times a year.

[00:25:44] That's true story. Yeah. I, it, it was one of those things that you were like, Ooh, this is going to be the big conflict. And then it wasn't just a cousin. Yep. Just a cousin. Um, I got cousin friends. Did you have any more Mike? Um, I'll just, I'll throw out one other thing that kind of made me scratch my head, which was the, uh, inexplicable hockey injury of, uh, the, the, the sister's husband. Right. But there was, there was one, there was one line that really made me kind of laugh and at, at how kind of robotic

[00:26:13] the line was, which was, he comes out to like help out at the workshop or whatever. And Carter says, at this, his arm is in a sling at this point. And Carter says, thank you for coming by and lending a hand. And then, but then the guy goes, well, it looked like you guys were short one left hand. Oh, I see what the joke they were trying to go, but it sounds, it sounds like a joke that was like written by a computer program. I don't think it's, I don't think a human wrote that. They really came to the dome.

[00:26:44] Do they think they get it? Nah, one more, one more. It's like one of those like recurrent neural network things. Like the, like they feed all the scripts of every Hallmark movie into a machine. And it spits out like a script, but that was the best they could do too. Yeah. At least they got the hand right. That's right. The wrong one. Oh my gosh. I, I, I got a couple of them. One is can't, can you make a dress that quickly? So this girl's flipping through the books with Ann Becky and it's like, oh, I like that one.

[00:27:14] And she's like, you know what? I like that one too. I think that's the one I'm going to make the next day. She's made it. And I thought when I, my, my initial one was, can you make a dress in a week? I have it done until the day before the party or something, but no, she got it done overnight. The thing about dreams, Brandon, is if you believe in them, they come true. I want to make a dress by tomorrow. When you wish. And then my second one is if, if his, if his tiny town wasn't for sale, why was it at Santa's market? Yeah. No, that's true.

[00:27:44] That's true. They're walking around Santa's market and she's like, oh, I love this. I love this train. We should buy it for the thing for the festival. And, and he's like, it's not for sale. I hate to tell you, it's a market. At the Greenville farmer's market. We have a table booth. We pay the money. We set a bunch of stuff out and people come over like, no, not for sale. We got a bunch of cookies. No, we just keep eating them. They're all for me. Milk, nothing. I legitimately don't want to do that. Oh yeah. I'm in. Somebody send us the money.

[00:28:14] 22. Deck The Hallmark. Deck The Hallmark. That's right. Yeah. Dan. There are a lot of adults at this high school dance. Like an inordinate amount. Getting freaky close. I mean, like the number of adults at this high school dance really have me concerned. Like one, the high school kids aren't going to show up. They're going to be like, all these people are cops. Like they're all narcs. They're all in here. And second of all, like are there that many adults in this small town

[00:28:43] clamoring to go to a high school dance? I'm concerned. Like, is this like a, like a Latter-day Saint town where they all have to chaperone it? Like what's going on here? I'm already figuring out my excuse to not go to my reunion. That's right. I'm not going, I'm not going to a dance. I've got kids that are two and a half. I'm trying to figure, and I'm going to be the principal of their high school. I'm trying to figure out how to not go to their dance. Right. Like, I'm like, you know, this is absurd. Like just patently, like, I don't know what to do with that. Right. And listen, if for whatever reason

[00:29:12] you are an adult and you are at one of these dances and no, you should never lean in for a kiss. No, no, don't do it. It's your, it's your, it's your chaperone. I don't care how much you believe in your dream of kissing at a high school dance. You don't do it. You can't. That's wrong. Don't do it. Next of all, uh, Abe, look, there is nothing wrong with being a flight attendant. Can I say that for a second? First and foremost, it's an, it's an honorable profession. Unless it's like Allegiant or something where they don't even do snacks. No, no, no.

[00:29:42] It's like at that point, it's like you're just there. Like they throw you, they throw pretzels at your face. Which I'm thankful for Allegiant. Yeah. Yeah. Welcome to Spirit Airlines. I'm going to eat pretzels in front of you. It's going to cost you. Meet Spirit Airlines. It's going to cost you 50 bucks. So we say all that to say this, there's nothing wrong with being a flight attendant, but Ava's mom, who is a flight attendant, is hell bent on Ava not going to New York for one of the most premier opportunities in the world.

[00:30:09] 40 kids from around the world get into this program and flight attendant mom is like, no, don't do it. You can do what I do. Like what, what in the world is going on where you cannot back your daughter up there? Like that is, go ahead, Mike. She did change her mind really quickly though. That's true. Yeah. She real, she went and did another shift on Spirit Airlines and was like, man, my shoulder is sore from throwing the pretzels. I gotta, I gotta tell my daughter to get

[00:30:39] out of this racket immediately. I, uh, I've got a bunch more. Um, but at the end of the day, I'll just do one more, even though I've got three or four more. Uh, Jenny Pickard and the peppermint bark cookie. Yeah. Which causes the big argument. Yes. Um, as it would, uh, Maddie, Maddie's mom says that I got one of the cookies and I'm going to replicate the recipe by taste and then says one of Jenny Pickard's cookies will never cross my lips.

[00:31:09] Wait, wait a minute. I'm sorry, mom. You have one of two choices. You can hold your ground and never taste the Jenny Pickard peppermint bark cookie, which sound delicious, or you can try to replicate it by taste. You cannot do both no matter how much you dream it. You cannot do both. You can't. I do want to say this. This movie wasn't great. It's not one of my favorites. That scene though. It's so classic. It's so good. One of my favorite scenes of the year. Oh, absolutely. When they're watching it, it was whole. I was like legitimately laughing. That is a Gilmore Girls. That's a perfect. But I will say this.

[00:31:39] I would have never left that party with that fight going on. No way. I'm leaving. No, no, no, no. You double down. This is why I go to Christmas parties. You get a seat. You get some popcorn. You're there. You probably tried to provoke something else. That's right. You don't go to Christmas parties and hope things don't get awkward. That's right. That's why you go. You're like, oh, someone's going to be drunk. That's fine. It's time for What the Hall, right? It's part of the show. We talk about what the Hall, what in this movie, maybe happened before or after. [00:32:07] of the questions that we still have. And I'll kick us off. One, I would like to know more maybe about this principle. Now, this principle is one of my favorite humans in the world because he goes up there and he's like, he sounds like the guy who does the cha-cha slide. It's time to get funky. It's time to talk about. Let me get all the adults on the floor. Cha-cha real smooth. What up?

[00:32:37] He was my favorite. I don't understand the voice that he's doing. Like, he was like this. He's a method actor, I guess. I don't know. I loved how much he, you know, he went for it. You know, he had a very, he had a small part and he kind of just like, he made it his own. I was like, wow, nice, nice. I loved him. He was just the best. Panda? There's a throwaway line, but I have so many questions about this. At one point, Lachlan says, how does Coach Hyde, or she mentions that she was playing with a baton

[00:33:07] when she was in the baton thing. Oh my gosh. And then she said, oh man, and we sent Coach Hyde to the emergency room when I threw the baton. What? What? Wait a minute. What the heck happened? That's right. I gotta know more about that story. Like, was this an eye injury? Is there like, was there blood? What's happening right now? I needed to know that, but I just, the problem is, the thought that kept taking over for me was, if she was so bad at the baton, why did she do it? Like, why was that a thing that happened? You don't have to twirl the baton. Do you think she

[00:33:36] javelin threw it? Well, she said, I don't know, but she said she was really bad and sent Coach Hyde. Like, why were you, like, why were you in the marching band doing the baton? Like, it should have been, hey, Aunt Becky's bad at the baton, guys. Let's get somebody else or let's not have a baton thrower. Like, that's just not. But that's the problem with believing your dreams can come true. Once again, you cannot fly. Dan? Oh, boy. So, I need to know more information on the application situation for the Fashion Institute because they're like,

[00:34:07] well, you can turn in applications by January 1st, but it closes for the week of Christmas. Right. So, shouldn't they just say they're due before Christmas? Yeah. Because it's like, I think they made a mistake in the script and instead of fixing it, they just added to it. You know what I mean? Like, instead of going, hey, scratch out January 1st and put Christmas. Nah, Benny, I got this. We'll just put they close that week. Like, why are you doing that? Like, just put it. It's got to be due by Christmas. Like, that application system makes no sense at all.

[00:34:38] I had a lot of questions about that. It did waste eight seconds, though, which is a win. That's right. True story. I also need to know the rules of the cookie swap, which I'm unclear on. I think we are. I think, like, it seems pretty straightforward. We swap cookies. But when we get in there, they argue and they argue specifically about the rules and I'd like to just see a copy of the bylaws for that bad boy. That would help me out a lot. And then, I do need to know how people are judged in this town. It does seem like a really, really straight-laced town.

[00:35:07] Like a footloose town. Like, everybody's parents show up for the dance and if you have too many lights, people think you're gaudy. If you don't have enough, people think you're not in the spirit. So, like, this is a pretty tight-lipped, straight-laced town with John Lithgow as its mayor. Like, that's the only way around this. Those are my what the hallmarks. Mike, close us out. Well, I'll quickly shout out one other thing that really made me laugh since I kind of, I made fun of the hand joke a little bit, but I did like when they were having the pie for breakfast

[00:35:37] at the diner, which also had a Gilmore Girls feel and Matty says something like, you know, it's crust is basically bread. I thought that was pretty funny. So I'll give a shout out to that. And then, I think the thing I was confused about, and I don't know if this is an actual saying, I googled it and it seems like it kind of is, but the line there, there are no mistakes, only decisions. Yeah. I didn't quite, I didn't quite understand that. No. I really had trouble

[00:36:06] wrapping my head around it. So it's almost like I don't think that's a real thing. Isn't a bad decision a mistake? I feel like It's a decision. I feel like mistakes and decisions can both exist independently of one another. If my son were to put his hand on a hot burner, I wouldn't say, that was a, that was a decision. That was a decision. That was a mistake. That was a mistake. That was a mistake. This movie was a decision.
