[00:00:02] This is a Bramble Jam Podcast. I'm from the North Pole. It's time for Christmas Morning. The daily show where every day is Christmas. Here are your hosts, Brand and...
[00:00:32] Another month, another party episode. The intro is factually inaccurate because we don't have Brand today. I don't even know where he is. Some beach somewhere. But that doesn't matter because I'm here with everyone's favorite Shannon. Shannon, Merry Christmas. Oh, Merry Christmas to you too, Scott. And thanks for calling me everyone's favorite Shannon because... That's right. You don't want to be that other Shannon. No.
[00:00:58] I met that other Shannon and yeah, she's just, you know, not as popular. That's right. Is it kind of like TV Scotty? There's a special Shannon as well. I don't know if I like that. I'm going to pull back the curtain for just a second and I'm going to brag about Shannon because we mentioned that in previous party episodes you were at my house.
[00:01:19] We never really talked about why. And the reason was that Shannon was recording two different audio book narrations and she had really loud, clompy neighbors who were ruining her recording. So I said, why don't you just come here and do it? And Shannon, even though it's a probably 30, 40 minute drive, came here like four or five days a week for months.
[00:01:43] She was incredibly dedicated to her craft. And I just wanted to congratulate you on having both of them done. It's not just a matter of recording either. It's also editing. Thank you. You have more experience doing it for audio books, but it's more time consuming than the actual recording itself. Do you think that's accurate?
[00:02:03] It was more time consuming than the actual recording, but I also learned a lot through that process. Things I won't be doing again, you know, trial and error. You got to fail first, right? That's right. The school of hard knocks. I'm sure when you started doing the podcast, you didn't realize the amount of editing involved.
[00:02:24] I would not have edited the way that I do and the way that people have gotten used to for this show had I known how much work it was going to be and how many hours, but it's worth it. And I just wanted to congratulate you on your incredibly hard work and everybody should go, should go check out Shannon's books. What are the titles?
[00:02:48] Well, it's called The Sailor Situation and All the Right Words, which I haven't officially announced on my page yet, but it is out. It's no, that's okay. It's out. I didn't give up a secret or anything. No, it's no, it's no secret. It's more my own being a bit behind the eight ball of where I should be because I have some promo codes as well to be used for all the right words.
[00:03:14] Just a fair wording. They are not super family friendly. They are romance. One of them is a rom-com. The other is more romance suspense. But yeah, if you're curious, you can go to my Instagram page, which I think is Shannon DuBose VO. And that's where I share about those books. So, okay. Yeah. Well, I would encourage everyone to do that. I have not listened yet, Shannon. I'm waiting for one of those promo codes because I'm so cheap.
[00:03:43] I'll send one. You are. It's true. It's a fatal flaw. But congratulations on all your hard work and thanks for being here today. You're welcome. I've got Alonzo going to be on the show with me tomorrow. So I didn't want to ask him to do two things in a row. I don't think you and I have ever done a party episode, just the two of us. I don't believe so because even when Bran was out earlier this year, Joe stepped in. Joe stepped in. Yeah. Yes.
[00:04:09] So it's going to work out fine because this is a little bit of a shorter episode anyway. We don't have quite as much, but it's kind of to be expected. It's May and there aren't as many people as me thinking about Christmas. Well, I don't want to get ahead of the countdown. We have a countdown, right? But let's do that first and then I'll give my thoughts about that. All right. Let's do that. Seven months until Christmas.
[00:04:41] Seven months, Shannon. Yes. I had to think about it. Yes. Seven months. But in my head, when I thought about that, I was like, oh, wow, that's almost six months, which is almost halfway to Christmas. Exactly. And we're getting past the real big milestones in the year, like Memorial Day, which is a lot of people consider it the official start to summer. And I believe this episode is probably coming out on Memorial Day itself.
[00:05:10] Yeah, I think so. No, wait, no. It's yeah, it is because it's a it's like a week early this year. I don't understand how or why that happened. And then the next big one we'll have is July 4th. And after that, the floodgates are open. Yes. This is our Memorial Day episode because the 25th is Monday. So, yeah, we are memorializing Christmas as well.
[00:05:32] You probably haven't gotten to last week's show yet, but we had a bunch of people write in with pictures from their Hobby Lobbies with stuff starting to show up on the walls and shelves already. Nice. So it's only a matter of time. I think I really get into it after the 4th of July. Yeah. And I'm OK with that. I understand that I'm still a bit of a weirdo. But after that, what other holidays do you really have to look forward to? Listen. Halloween, obviously.
[00:06:00] But you're not a weirdo because everyone who listens to this podcast is. That's true. Also, if you're a Christmas weirdo, I think that's OK. Yeah, exactly. There are a lot of other things you could be a weirdo about. Yeah. That's why we have a show called Christmas Morning. Exactly. So all of us Christmas weirdos can just hang out together. It's also how I deal with the heat of summer. It's true. So. Yeah. We don't have sections today, but that's OK because we don't have Bran to play a kazoo or whatever he would normally do.
[00:06:28] So we're just going to read a bunch of emails and have some fun. I'll read the first one, Shannon. Sure. And it's from Mike Big Spectacle Trulock. Oh, OK. Mike says, Merry Christmas to Scott and Shannon and all of the workshop full of Christmas morning elves. Here are pictures of the progress I have made for my village. I would have loved to have made more progress, but work and life has caused that to go at a snail's pace. I got the new shelves up and a center shelving tower that my favorite buildings will be displayed on.
[00:06:58] I have some shelves partially completed, but that might change before I'm finally done. I also have the wall decor up that my father-in-law made for me this past Christmas. The gingerbread village he gave me will be getting a spot of its own in the room. I'm thinking of keeping the Peanuts nativity scene on top of the highest shelf, but it's not definite yet. Please let me know what you guys think. I'm looking forward to getting this done so I can sit back and enjoy my bit of year round Christmas. As soon as I'm finished, I will send pictures.
[00:07:26] And he did send a few pictures of his progress. I put them on our Instagram last night, Shannon. It's wonderful, Mike. You say this is going at a snail's pace. This is completed to some people. I really like the first one, Shannon, that with all the different little cubbies, maybe you might call it? Shelves. Shelving. Shelves, yeah. It does look fantastic. It's like he has a team of elves at his house. Yeah. And speaking of which, did you hear them laugh in the beginning?
[00:07:54] Because that was interesting. I don't, I wasn't expecting that. They look like they were at Mike's house setting this up because it looks fantastic. Yep. I'm a little bit jealous. I don't have anything set up like this and I kind of wish I did. But maybe I'll just take a page from the book of Big Spectacle here and do something like this myself. Thank you, Mike, for sending this. I would encourage everyone to go to our Instagram and check out these photos. And Mike, please keep them coming.
[00:08:20] Shannon, we're in Denver and the temperatures are starting to creep up a little bit. When I was looking at this last night, I felt a little bit cozy. So, Mike, that's what I'm going to use these for. You're providing me a little bit of relief. For sure. Our next email is from Lenora Gilbert and it's an audio clip about having a Christmas tea party. Let's give that a listen. Hey, everybody. It's Lenora here, your Christmas freak on the street. And I'm here today to talk to you about having a Christmas tea party.
[00:08:50] It may be the perfect idea for you to host a tea party instead of a large dinner party or a formal gathering. A Christmas tea can be as formal or as casual as you want. But people can drop in over a set period of time and leave when they need to. Dropping in to say hello for a few minutes or a half hour might make more sense as everyone is so busy during the holidays. I aim for a 2 to 5 p.m. time slot so people can still have evening plans.
[00:09:17] I also send out a save the date way before the holiday season so that the tea will have a good attendance. As far as the party itself, there are four main areas that you need to plan. The first one is the tea itself. I tend to pick a standard tea such as PG Tips. Better to pick a simple tea rather than a fancy flavored one as it will appeal to more people and won't clash with any of the food that you're serving.
[00:09:43] Also, have on hand some alternative beverages for the non-tea drinkers such as sodas or flavored waters. The next area of planning is the food. Plan on a savory category with sandwiches. Cucumber is my favorite. I cut the bread with cookie cutters to be shaped like little tiny Christmas trees. Quiches, tarts, cheese plates, they're all good items. And have fun with your sweet selection. You can use some of the cookies you've already baked, some tarts, cakes.
[00:10:12] You can make everything or you can buy them from a bakery or you can mix and match. You can put as much work or as little into the party as you want. The decorations, that usually takes care of itself. The holiday decorations are already put up around your house. I just set a nice table and add in some fresh flowers to make it a little extra fancy. And the last thing I like to plan is to include a gift to take home.
[00:10:39] Often friends will show up bearing gifts and I always like to send people away with a little something. I pick up small cookie tins from the Dollar Tree so folks can pack up a little selection of the treats to take home with them. And last year I got plans from Trader Joe's that already came packaged in paper bags with handles to send home with people. Big or small, it's the thought that counts. Hopefully you can fit a tea party into your Christmas holiday time this year. Or maybe for your Christmas in July.
[00:11:08] Happy Christmas party, everybody. Lenora sent some pictures along with this, Shannon. And I put it on our Instagram and I said, you had me at deviled eggs. Oh my gosh. Because those are my absolute favorite. And as a diabetic, it's easy for me to eat those without too much trouble. But there's some deviled eggs, but there are a ton of these adorable Christmas cookies on these really great tiered platters. That I just love those.
[00:11:34] And I have one that's Christmas themed with the Christmas trees on them. And I'm forgetting the name, but it's like a famous brand. Oh, okay. And I, at Christmas time, we'll put Christmas cookies on that. And when I was living in New York with my family, my aunt is really great at, back in the day, I used to help her bake Christmas cookies. And we would bake so many. And Christmas Eve, it was kind of a tradition for the dessert just to be like Christmas cookies.
[00:12:02] And this reminds me of Christmas Eve, just putting out all those cookies. So the tea party theme is fantastic. I love it. I think that's a great way to have a, like, if you're going to have a Christmas party, maybe have a Christmas tea party. So I loved this idea. I'm seeing all the hits here, too, in these photos. I'm seeing what look like molasses cookies, which are my favorite. Then there's the thumbprint cookies. We got the deviled eggs here.
[00:12:29] It looks like there might be some canapes in the background, like little finger sandwiches. But it's on the top of this tiered display that they almost look like hostess snowballs. I know they're not, Lenora. I need a recipe. But they have that look, and it looks like it's some fancy version of them. Yes. Those look like they might be really tasty. So, Lenora, maybe you should send us the recipe for that. Thank you for sending this, Lenora. Really fun idea. Shannon, would you mind reading our email from Ellen Koch? Sure.
[00:12:56] Hello, Brann, Scott, Shannon, and everyone else in the Christmas Morning family. I have been a listener for about a year and a half now, and this is my first time writing in. I experienced something I never thought I would see recently, and thought you guys would get a kick out of it. For some background, I have lived in Calgary, Canada for the past few years, but I grew up near Vancouver, Canada. Calgary has true Canadian winters, while Vancouver often rains but rarely snows.
[00:13:25] Since moving here, I've experienced more snow and freezing temperatures than ever in my life. It has definitely been nice to have some white Christmases, something that rarely happened for me growing up. Anyways, it was quite a shock to me when it snowed this past weekend on May 16th. And not just a little bit, it snowed all day. Maybe this is nothing to some of you who are used to a colder climate, but I was amazed. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on snow in mid-May.
[00:13:53] Colleagues of mine who have lived here their whole lives don't seem fazed by it. Only snow in August surprises them, which apparently does happen. It's all melted away now, but I've attached a video of the snow coming down in the morning that day. You can see in the video that our summer patio furniture and a tipped-over watering can are being covered in snow. We had to rush to bring the cushions and flower planters inside. In honor of the snow, my two-year-old daughter and I watched Christmas movies.
[00:14:22] I'm training her to be a Christmas fanatic too. Thanks for everything you guys do. I love listening to the podcast every week. Ellen, I love this. And Shannon, you and I are probably some of the most qualified to talk about this. Because it's not rare for it to snow in May in Colorado, or at least in Denver where we are. Now, it's not like it happens every single year. My birthday is on the 18th of May, and we talked about this on the show last week.
[00:14:51] I didn't get the snow on my birthday. But on the 19th in the morning, I did have a notification on my phone from overnight that it had been snowing at some point. I never got to actually see it, but I have seen measurable snow on my birthday, like four or five inches. And I've seen it maybe as late as the 25th. But it did snow the first week of May here. I was not in town for that. I was a New York visiting family.
[00:15:17] But while I was there, there was a day where it snowed all day. And then someone sent over a picture. They were watching my dog, and there was no snow on the ground. And it was so bizarre because I was like, that's the same day? And yep, the sun came out. Everything melted. Did it happen like that over by you, Scott? Yeah. When it does happen this late in the season, it's typically like we have a 70-degree day, and then the next day it snows, and then the next day it's 60 degrees again.
[00:15:47] And that's nice because I get to see it the last little breath of winter, but I don't have to deal with it. And it's pretty awesome. Yeah. Ellen, I'm glad you got to see it. And again, from your email, you didn't have to do anything with it either. And I really like the part about watching the Christmas moves with your daughter. That was really cool. So thank you for writing in. It was great to hear from you, and I hope it's not the last time. Yes. I have an email from Nicholas St. Nick Linsman, and this was just a quick one. And Nick says, Merry Christmas.
[00:16:15] I just wanted to share one of our smaller closets that contain some of our Christmas decorations that give me a smile every time I open up this closet door. The other closets are loaded with bins, but this one is all exposed. It has one or two Halloween things, but it's 95% Christmas. And Nick included the photo of this. I really liked this, Shannon. Two reasons. One is you don't have to have something big to write into us.
[00:16:40] I love this kind of thing, and the idea of being able to just kind of sneak open the closet door, get my little hit of the holidays, and then I can close the door again and not get sick of it. I thought this was a great idea. I love it. And I loved the photo. I'm pretty sure I put this up on our Instagram as well. It was a fun little one, and Nick, I just wanted to thank you for sending it in. You really gave me a smile when I checked this one. All right, Shannon, why don't we take a quick break?
[00:17:06] And when we get back, we've got some travel clips, we've got some movie reviews, and a couple more emails. Sound good? Sounds great. All right, we'll be right back here on Christmas Morning. We're back, and so is our travel dad, Ernie Delisanti. He wrote in about Nuremberg, Germany, Shannon, specifically the Christkindle markets that are there.
[00:17:32] So I was excited for you to be able to hear this one as well. Hey, Christmas morning people. Travel dad, Ernie Delisanti here. In each party episode, I'll be bringing you a Christmassy place worth putting on your list as Santa. This month, we're off to Nuremberg, Germany. Nuremberg is home to the famous Christkindle market, and this place has been doing Christmas since the 1600s,
[00:17:57] which means this market is older than electricity, smartphones, and probably at least three relatives who still complain about kids these days. And honestly, you feel that history the second you step into it. Picture a medieval town square glowing with lights, wooden stalls lined up everywhere,
[00:18:17] the smell of roasted nuts, bratwurst, and fresh lebuchin floating through the air so strongly that your stomach basically starts making travel decisions before your brain catches up. And if you've never had authentic German lebuchin before, imagine gingerbread that finally reached its full potential. One of the things I love about Nuremberg is that it still feels traditional.
[00:18:42] You don't walk in and feel like you've entered a giant holiday shopping mall sponsored by 12 credit cards and a talking snowman. This feels real. They even have these little figures called prunemen, made from dry prunes and nuts, and somehow they manage to be both adorable and slightly unsettling at the same time. It's the kind of decoration where you look at it and go,
[00:19:05] I don't fully understand this, which probably means it's authentic and probably tastes good too. Then there's the Christkind. Every year, a golden angel opens the market in a ceremony overlooking the square, and it feels straight out of a Christmas movie. Like, if somebody suddenly handed you a mug of hot chocolate and told you to believe in the spirit of the season, you probably wouldn't argue. But here's the important travel dad part. May is when this trip shifts from,
[00:19:35] that sounds nice someday, to, okay, are we actually doing this? Because by the time most people start thinking seriously about Christmas travel, the best hotels are already gone, flights start climbing, and suddenly, your magical Christmas market trip starts looking financially adventurous. And look, I'm a dad. I understand putting things off. Half my garage is a project I was definitely getting to this weekend. But this is one of those trips where planning ahead actually changes the experience.
[00:20:04] So instead of scrambling, you get to enjoy the anticipation. You get months of looking forward to it. And honestly, that's part of Christmas too. The buildup, the excitement, the countdown. Nuremberg isn't just a Christmas market. It's the kind of place that reminds you why people fall in love with Christmas in the first place. And that's this month's Christmassy place. I'm Ernie Della Santi, your travel dad. Hope it's one putting on your list to Santa. See you next month. Ernie, thank you for sending that in.
[00:20:33] I think we've talked about this before, Shannon, that you work the Christkindle markets in Denver. Which obviously, they're not the same scale and level as Nuremberg. But from what Ernie was describing, it sounded like the only one I've been to, which is the one you work at every year, is a good representative of the kind of original ones in Germany. I believe so. And there are so many Christmas markets in Germany and Europe.
[00:21:00] And shout out to Maren Hogue, who's actually a listener of the podcast and DTH. And she actually took a trip to Germany and went to, I don't know if she went to the Nuremberg market, but she definitely visited a few of them. So it's very cool, very fun. And it would be really cool to go one day. Yeah, I would love to go. We're going to take a trip to Europe sometime before my daughter graduates high school. Like for us, that's kind of like those,
[00:21:30] you take that trip kind of once things and you do it right. That's the part of the year I'd like to go in to be able to experience these markets. I think that would be so cool. And when I go to the Christkindle market that you work at, my favorite part is all the German food. Oh yeah. All the sausages and the pastries and everything. Yeah. There's so much wonderful food. So much wonderful craftsmanship, especially like German ornaments. And of course the drinks are great. Prost is a great, they're here in Denver.
[00:21:59] They're great. Why am I forgetting the name? Brewery of German beer. And do it really well for Colorado. You know, I've never had German, like beer from Germany directly, like in Germany. Sure. Imported, obviously. We'll figure out how to solve that problem one day. Okay. We'll all, we'll have a big Christmas morning trip out there. Field trip. Yeah. For sure. Shannon, I have a clip from the Christmas aficionado. He reviewed the Dr.
[00:22:27] Quinn medicine woman episode called Mike's dream, a Christmas tale. Now this was requested by our listener friend, era Evans. And the note that I got back from Joe with this was, this was brutal. So let's give that a listen. Well, it happened. I asked for suggestions and I finally received a request for a show that I had no desire to ever watch. But now I do. Let's all listen to as I suffer discussing Dr. Quinn medicine woman episode Mike's dream,
[00:22:57] a Christmas tale. It's Christmas and Dr. Quinn medicine woman referred to as Dr. Mike loses her patient, Mr. Marley, who dies of a heart attack during surgery. Upset, the man's family yells at Dr. Mike, who really should have reminded the woman that she's the end of the day. only doctor in Colorado Springs. But you must understand this is most unusual. I understand. He was full for letting a woman doctor cut on him.
[00:23:25] There was nothing that any doctor could have done for your husband. She returns home where the children, Matthew, Colin and Brian have ordered a special present for Dr. Mike from Boston, but it was not delivered in time for Christmas. Let's get something from Boston, from a real store. It's not my fault. It's not my fault. It was your idea. They exchange a few gifts of scarves and a copy of Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol, excited for the book entertainment. Mr. Dickens, when I was a little girl,
[00:23:54] it was a tradition in our house. As they head to church, Dr. Mike is called to the office to help a couple because the woman is in labor. They can't go to the hospital as they got married against their parents' wishes, and her daddy is very mad. I'm Dr. Quinn. You a real doctor? Disappointed she can't go to church, Dr. Mike wishes she could just for once do something she wanted to do.
[00:24:19] Why can't I have a normal holiday like everyone else? That admission forces the ghost of Charlotte to appear. That's right. This episode is another retelling of A Christmas Carol. Apparently, Charlotte is the mother to these three children. They are not Dr. Mike's. She took them in after Charlotte died from a fatal rattlesnake bite, asking her to watch over them on her deathbed. The ghost of Charlotte takes Dr.
[00:24:48] Mike back into a past Christmas in Boston, where she sees her younger self at medical school and the death of her father. She then shows her the present, watching herself deliver the baby in the future, where Mike is with her children and grandchildren on Christmas Eve, along with her husband. However, Charlotte won't let her see who it is, since we still have four more seasons of this show to figure that out. The episode ends with Dr. Mike waking up as herself in the barn. The baby's been delivered while the mother's father eventually finds them. Dr.
[00:25:17] Mike reminds the man that this is his grandchild, and all is forgiven when he sees the baby's face. Cops and bishops ain't never been married and they never will. I think we're past that point, gentlemen. There's a child here, a child we've all spent a great deal of time and effort to bring into this world. You split him up, Sheriff. He gets the baby. One of these men has a grandson. Grandson? Dr. Dr. Mike realizes she does what she loves and is thankful to be raising some other woman's kids. You see, I'm so glad you're all here.
[00:25:47] What more could I want? I have your love, and will continue to be the best Christmas present I'll ever receive. So, final thoughts. You're going to have to forgive me if I have a tone of disgust in this review. This was the show that my grandmother would watch, and I was too cool watching Star Trek to ever care about Dr. Quinn. Unfortunately, I don't have a real good feel for this episode, as it was a bit over the top in the retelling of A Christmas Carol. It's not awful, but boy, is I bored.
[00:26:15] I give this episode a C. Well, that's my review of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman episode Mike's Dream, A Christmas Tale from the second season, suggested by Aura. What Christmas episode should I review next? If you have a suggestion, send it to Scott. I'm the Christmas aficionado, and remember, stay off the naughty list. Shannon, I've never watched Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, have you? I have, but it's been years. It's also not really my style of show.
[00:26:45] Yeah, no kidding. But I'm really glad Joe covered that episode, so hope you enjoyed it, Aura. If anybody else has something they would like Joe to cover for us, drop me an email, christmasmorningpodcast at gmail.com. I'm happy to pass that along to him. No promises, though. There have been one or two where Joe said, I have not been able to find this, and he's putting it on like a backlog in case he ever comes across it. So we'll try our best, but no promises. Shannon, would you read our last email today from Rebecca Porter?
[00:27:15] Absolutely. Hello. I haven't written in a while. The problem is that I usually listen to you while I'm driving, and then by the time I get where I'm going, I forget to send you whatever I thought of while I was listening. Classic problem. Yeah. I just took a trip to Disney World with my two daughters, almost one and almost three, and the older one really wanted a balloon. She asked for it three days in a row, so we decided to go for it, and she picked out a glittery one with Mickey on one side and Minnie on the other.
[00:27:45] She was holding it on the bus ride home and said to me while pointing at the glitter hearts, the glitter did not look like hearts, and I was very confused, but sometimes you just agree with your toddler because, okay, maybe it looks like hearts to her. Then she said very quietly, as if to herself, glitter hearts excited to share. In case you don't know that reference, that's a two-year-old's version of a line from Bran's book,
[00:28:13] When's It Gonna Be Christmas Again?, which is a banger of a children's book and also unexpectedly emotional. Thank you so much for making me cry at the end there. It's from the February bit where they are making valentines. My daughter loves that book, and it is a year-round staple in our house. I know this is kind of the wrong podcast to email about this, but I don't really email Deck the Hallmark. Would they even read it if I did? I think they would. They would. You should send it in for What's Calling My Heart.
[00:28:43] Oh, yeah, that's true. Yeah. The fact that when my daughter sees glitter, that her reaction is to quote Bran's book, just makes my heart happy. And I thought it might bring you some joy, too. Merry Christmas and a very happy belated Valentine's Day, I suppose. That's great, Rebecca. That was really sweet, Rebecca. What a cute story, Shannon. It is cute, and you should absolutely, I am encouraging you to email in for What's Calling My Heart for their When Calls the Heart episodes,
[00:29:12] because I think they actually didn't have enough emails. Yeah, I think they ran out. And also, this has to do with heart. So, like, what could be more perfect? Yeah, it would be perfect, and you get to promo their book. Exactly. Yeah, for sure. Which is just wonderful. But we also got to do it here. And, yes, we'll always read your emails here. Of course. They may not get to it on DTH, because they're all highfalutin' over there. But over here in the gutter, Scotty will read anything to you, so no problem. Oh, but Dan and Bran will love hearing that you read the book
[00:29:41] and what your toddler said. It's so adorable. And also, like, good on you for bringing toddlers to Walt Disney World. Oh, my goodness, yeah. That is a feat for sure. I don't have kids of my own, but I sure do know some toddlers and have cared for them over the years. So that's quite the feat. Yeah, and I lucked out when it comes to Disney World, because I asked my daughter if she wanted to go, and she said, nah. Okay, well, great. I didn't want to spend that $8,000 anyway. So super. Classic Scotty. Yeah, I know. I was so relieved.
[00:30:11] It was great. I figured if she did want to go, I was just going to Photoshop her into some photos of Disney World and say that she was like two, and you just don't remember. That was my plan, but I didn't have to do it. So it was great. Worked out perfectly. Well, a bit of a shorter episode today, Shannon, but it's May, and that's okay. Here's my ask for all the listeners out there. We're coming to the point in the year where you might just start seeing a little Christmas in the wild. Probably Hobby Lobby, probably Michael's, something like that.
[00:30:40] But if you do, just snap a quick photo and email it to me. It makes my heart so happy to see these kind of things. You never know when it's going to hit, too, because it could be on that day where it was 85 degrees and I was sweating behind the wheel of the car, and you just give me a tiny little burst of Christmas, and you're going to thrill me. So no picture too small. I don't have a picture of it, but just to end the episode on a high note, I saw some Christmas today. I went to a couple of estate sales this morning,
[00:31:09] and both estate sales had a good, solid selection of some Christmas items. And I thought about you, and I thought about the listeners. It's always fun when you go to estate sales and you see what kind of Christmas collections that other people have. Did you bring home anything haunted? I don't know if they're haunted, Scotty, but I did bring some things home. We'll find out. Okay. Yeah. TBD on that one. Sure. All right. Well, thank you for joining us, Shannon. I hope you can come back next month,
[00:31:38] and Brand should be here next month. Yay. 50-50 chance if he's even listening. So, you know, last time we had to really beg him to listen to the episode. I don't know why, but whatever. Maybe he gets his fill of it during the year, and he just needs a break. I can respect that. He's just too big these days, you know? He's, like, going on vacation, sitting in his Hollywood Hills home, basically. Yeah. Yeah. We're still of the people, you and I. Totally. Well, thank you for joining us, everybody. Please start thinking about next month's party episode.
[00:32:08] Hopefully, we'll get a few more submissions, you know, as we approach the big halfway point to Christmas. But if you have anything for us, or, I mean, come on back for tomorrow's episode as well, give us an email. ChristmasWarningPodcast at gmail.com. We love to hear from you. We sure do. But until then, Merry Christmas.
[00:32:37] You're about to hear some ads that help pay for our trip back and forth to the North Pole. Feel free to listen. Feel free to bail now. But either way, thanks for being here. Ho, ho, ho! Whoa.
